HAL won the cut and lost a very exciting and entertaining game.   After three deals ROY trailed by 18 points.   To achieve board postion in search of a skunk, HAL discarded a risky Q-Q into ROY's crib.   With a "miracle" J starter, ROY's discard of 10-10 produced a 16-point crib.

Later, with ROY dealing from hole 100 holding A 2 2 2, HAL had a chance to win holding 6 6 8 8.   The Q starter was not the "miracle" HAL needed and all seemed lost.

On the next deal, HAL by crafty discarding managed to stop ROY from counting out from hole 117.

On the following deal HAL pegged four more holes holding a 12-point hand to get to hole 118, but could not prevent ROY from pegging a single point for the win.
