While play-testing HALSCRIB 2006 beta, HAL at hole 27 kept 4 spades 5 diamonds 6 diamonds 6 clubs, discarded 4 hearts 10 spades to my crib.

HAL opted for the aggressive 4-10 discard instead of the safer 6-10.   After the game was over, I analyzed this scenario from my view-point.

I clicked CARDS-MIRROR, MODE-CUSTOM and entered 10 as HAL's score, 27 as mine, with HAL as dealer.

I then "checked" the seeds box, entered 7953.22749.3697, and clicked the PLAY button on the CUSTOM Settings window to engage the scenario.

I then clicked VIEW-KEEP TOSS which confirmed that this aggressive discard gains about 1 hole in the pegging at the cost of a 1/4 hole in crib and hand, for a net gain of 1/2 hole.

If you think agressive play is needed and you have 4 4 5 6 6 X as pone, toss the X-4, where X is any face card.
