WinZip Tutor
Use WinZip to extract downloaded ZIP file(s) from a source folder into a target folder as destination file(s).
- OPEN ARCHIVE
- use 1 of 3 methods to run WINZIP
- double-click WINZIP desktop icon
- click START, click WINZIP in pop-up window
- click START, click ALL PROGRAMS in pop-up window, click WINZIP in next pop-up window
- click I AGREE button in splash screen
- click CLOSE button on WINZIP TIP of the DAY window
- use 1 of 2 methods to OPEN ARCHIVE
- click OPEN icon
- click FILE menu option, click OPEN ARCHIVE in drop-down list
- OPEN ARCHIVE window opens
- SOURCE Folder
- click downscroll button on right side of LOOK IN pane
- start navigation to source file from current location
- click LOCAL DISK, FOLDERS appear
- double-click folder or subfolder until downloaded file located
- files appear and subfolders if any, appear
- select ZIP FILES in FILES of TYPE pane
- all zipped files appear
- click source ZIP file in folders/files pane to finish navigation
- source ZIP file appears in FILE NAME pane
- click OPEN button beside FILE NAME pane
- OPEN ARCHIVE window closes, destination file details appear in WINZIP window
- inspect NAME and MODIFIED date time
- EXTRACT File
- use 1 of 2 methods to extract file(s) into target folder
- click EXTRACT icon
- click ACTIONS menu option, click EXTRACT... in drop-down list
- EXTRACT window opens
- click SELECTED FILES or ALL FILES radio button in FILES PANE
- click-check USE FOLDER NAMES below FILES pane
- use 1 of 2 methods to specify target folder
- for zipped WEB ENTRY forms and HALSCRIB upgrades
- navigate to CRIBBAGE subfolder of PROGRAM FILES, then HALSCRIB
- for zipped HALSCRIB install package click NEW FOLDER
- CREATE FOLDER window opens
- type name into NAME pane
- click OK, CREATE FOLDER window closes
- folder name appears in EXTRACT TO pane
- folder icon appears in FOLDERS/DRIVES pane
- click EXTRACT button, result is unzipped destination file(s) in target folder
- click YES if OVER-WRITE prompt appears
Use WINDOWS EXPLORER to verify successful extraction into target folder.
