National Post Now that the Jordan Heikamp inquiry has ended with a rush of condemnation and yet another lengthy list of heartfelt recommendations for the children's aid society to implement, why do I feel nothing substantial will be done in its wake? This inquiry has revealed a mountain of evidence to show that a number of unionized "professionals" charged with Jordan's protection have failed in their obligations to put Jordan first and have breached a moral and ethical code that cast a dark pall over workers in the system who are competent and compassionate. Further, allowing those guilty of such an alarming lack of judgment and competence to continue looking after children like Jordan is an outrage. In the real world, they would have been fired four years ago. There is no gray area in their incompetence and breathtaking ignorance of the value of Jordan's life. What sane individual would allow this bunch to continue to work with vulnerable children in the future? It is a recipe for disaster that should not be allowed to continue. If the Toronto Catholic Children's Aid Society wants to show the pubic it is serious about changing its ways it should clean house.
