As much as many of those harmed by this abominable act wish to seek retribution, how is killing even more innocent and indoctrinated people going to solve anything? Terrorism of this sort will never be eradicated by violence in kind. With all of today's technology I would submit that a global effort to hunt each and every known terrorist and kill them would be a better course of action. As the U.S. bombing of Yugoslavia has shown, indiscriminate retribution only fosters an escalation of violence and hate.
