AFTER READING Christina Blizzard's interview with our premier (Dec. 16), I felt compelled to write about a forthright and caring politician who will be greatly missed by my family, especially my less able boy, Logan. Many letters I wrote to Michael Deane Harris evoked his personal reply on paper indented with his signature. (The fakes are easy to discover when held up to a bright light.) His personal caring and commitment to see my less able boy survive and prosper in the real world empowered me to see that his notions of inclusion and equality of less able children come to fruition within the institutions that govern their education and care. Obviously, we should all want our children to prosper and be the best they can. Mike Harris, more than any leader before him, will be remembered as the premier of Ontario who did the most for our kids.
