CHILDRENS AID SOCIETY FAILED RANDAL

| HOME | NEXT |

Toronto Star
After reading about Randal Dooley's life in Jamaica, I was left with a sense of sadness and regret at his passing. I can imagine his excitement as he started a new life in Canada. How could he have known that the children's aid society would fail him so horribly and allow him to suffer such abuse?
The children's aid society had a moral obligation to remove Randal from harm. Instead, it turned a blind eye and his life was snuffed out.
Beatrice Dooley is right when she states that, "Nobody's holding up to their mistakes. The system failed, too. The system should be punished for negligence."
How many more examples of failure do we need to convince us that something should be done about the children's aid society's appalling lack of due diligence with respect to the children under its care?
