COUNTING CHRÉTIEN'S TRANSGRESSIONS

| HOME | NEXT |

The Hill Times
The continuing revelations of the Chrétien government's transgressions should weigh heavily on most Canadians' minds and on the consciences of his supporters and MPs, whom I assume don't have broken moral compasses with respect to the revelations of corruption and greed coming to light almost daily.
Each and every one of us, no matter our political stripes, must know in our hearts that the actions of the Liberal government are morally wrong and go against what it means to be open and honest Canadians and to abide by the law and be of good behaviour.
As hard-working Canadians, we have a right to know just how wide is this appalling misuse of the taxes we have paid. So far, every call for an independent commission to investigate fully and make recommendations that will end their self-serving ways has been refused.
The government depends upon the support of its Liberal MPs.
Probably the only course of action that may prove effective in getting to the root of this misuse of funds is shaming local MPs into pressuring their leader.
