The classic story of a miser who learns the true meaning of Christmas when three ghostly visitors review his past and foretell his future. It is a wonderful book for reading aloud and the whole family will enjoy Mr. Scrooge's reformation.
Children's Book:
The Hobbit -By J.R. Tolkien 1937
This is a book for older children, who will be charmed by the magical world of Middle Earth. Bilbo Baggins, is a hobbit. He is best pleased when sitting by his own fire with his pipe and a good meal to look forward to. Certainly this particular hobbit is the last person one would expect to see set off on a hazardous journey. No such luck, however; as thirteen fortune-seeking dwarves arrive on Bilbo's doorstep in search of a burglar, and before he can even grab his hat or an umbrella, Bilbo Baggins is swept out his door and into a dangerous adventure.
