December Links

Each month the Rose Garden will recommend four world wide web links. These links are categorized as follows:

Link of the Month: Bethlehem

Bethlehem is sacred to three religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. This web site contains a brief history of the religious significance of the City, a photo gallery, a video clip of Nativity church, and a schedule of church services. The site also contains similar information about Jerusalem, Nazareth, Tiberias and the Jordan River.

Hamilton, Ontario Link: The Bruce Trail Association

One of Hamilton's most striking natural assets are the cliffs of the Niagara Escarpment. In 1967 a group of naturalists founded the Bruce Trail, a public footpath extending from Queenston Heights to Tobermory. The Bruce Trail web site contains maps, virtual tours, news and events, featured hikes and an excellent fact sheet on the Niagara Escarpment.

Children's Link: NORAD Tracks Santa Claus

NORAD has a 39 year tradition of tracking Santa Claus by satellite. Starting December 6, you can visit the site for updates from the North Pole. On Christmas Eve, the site goes live with digital animation, cockpit images and live audio reports of Santa's progress from NORAD's control centre.

World Issue Link: The Hunger Site

With a simple click of a button at this site you can donate food to hungry people around the world. Site sponsors pay for the donation, which you can make once a day. The donated food is distributed through the United Nations World Food Program, which has projects in 80 countries. Bookmark this site and support its sponsors.
