Can Stilts
Materials:
- two large empty cans (washed)
- rope (10 foot length)
- large nail & hammer
Coffee cans work well for this project,
also the large cans of powdered baby
formula.
Using the large nail, make holes on opposite
sides of each can about one inch from the bottom. Thread a five
foot length of rope (cotton clothes-line is ideal) through each
can and tie the ends to form a loop. To walk on the stilts, stand
on the bottom of the cans and pull hard on the ropes to keep them
close to your feet.
These stilts are best used on a grassy
area as they take practice.
