Strawberry Long Cake 
This great coffee cake makes a pleasant change from
strawberry shortcake... hence the name. It is also delicious when
made with frozen berries.
1 cup sugar
2 cups flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 cup margarine
1/2 cup milk
1 quart fresh strawberries
Wash and slice strawberries and sweeten
to taste. Set them aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients.
Cut in margarine to form soft crumbs. Remove 3/4 cup of the crumb
mixture and set aside. Add milk to the remaining crumbs and mix
well to form a soft, sticky dough.
Spread dough in a greased 12 x 7 baking
dish. Cover dough with the strawberries and juice. Top with the
crumbs.
Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes.
Serve warm with whipped cream.
