Sidewalk Chalk
Materials:
- Plaster of Paris
- small paper cups
- powdered tempera paint
In a large container with a tight lid,
combine two cups of Plaster of Paris with one cup of powdered
tempera paint. Any strong, bright colour of paint will work. Close
the lid and shake well.
Have the children spoon three tablespoons
of the paint and plaster into a small paper cup. Add one or two
spoonfuls of water and stir well. The mixture will be the consistency
of pancake batter. Add more water if necessary. Set the cups aside
for about one hour to allow the plaster to set. Peel away the
paper cup and the chalk is ready to use.
