After crossing Dry Gulch, the train arrives at
the town of Ojito. It is here that a small town will be constructed against
the plains backdrop. A John Allen "timesaver" makes up the track plan for
the first stop after leaving Rio Junction. Several small industries are
planned to add to operational pleasure.
Finished switching the town of Ojito, #278 crosses a Howe truss bridge over Ojito Creek. It is here that the fireman earns his keep as the train climbs a 4% grade. Luckily, the grade is rather short as the track follows the rocky ledge along Ojito Creek.
